■Research summary
Applications of power electronics in power systems

 Electrical energy is essential for our society, and ‘Power Electronics’ plays an important role to use the electrical energy effectively because it is deeply related to generation, storage, supply and usage. Our laboratory researches the power electronics applications in power supply systems for high stability, high quality and high efficiency. The examples of the concrete subjects are as follows:

1. Study on power converters to make good use of next-generation power devices
2. Study on dc systems and the elements (power converters)
3. Study on control for switched reluctance motors

We can get fully understanding of power electronics and power system engineering through these research activities.
