Internet Voting, e-petition, voting advice applications
Digital Democracy Research

 Ongoing research includes:

a) statistical analysis of digital divide and trust in ICT among internet voters using partial least squares structural equation models,
b) systematic worldwide assessment of the use of digital signatures for the endorsement of different forms of e-petitions,
c) to investigate individual (internet) voter behavior over time with the help of big data techniques for vote registry data,
d) to investigate whether the success or failure of election candidates can be related to their respective activities in social media such as Twitter, Facebook, etc. Special attention will be paid to the way how candidates were presented in traditional (online) newspapers in contrast to social media (journal article).
