Screening, assessment, and development of human resources in organizations

 The study in human resource management has shed light on the management practices mainly from the standpoint of administrative science. Stressing on the institutional aspects of HRM, it has investigated administrative practices such as long-term employment, seniority-oriented treatment, and cohort-based training.
In the psychological approach, on the other hand, it is important to measure traits and requisites for managerial personnel, to acquire relevant human resource based on the psychological assessment, and to train and develop necessary skills with the help of measured information. A long history of industrial psychology has been contributing to the effective selection and training of business and military personnel since the beginning of 20th Century.
This series of studies attempt to measure leadership, competency, personality, motivation, loyalty, and organizational commitment by a diverse methods including aptitude testing, interview, simulation, staff appraisal, and/or multi-dimensional assessment, with the ultimate goals to visualize the properties of effective human resource. They include not only individual behavior but organizational phenomena such as corporate culture and organizational learning in the scope of research.
