■Research summary
Natural Resources and Politics in Southeast Asia with a focus on Indonesia and Malaysia, People and State Power in contemporary Southeast Asia, Local Politics and Federal-State Relationship in Malaysia.

I have studied politics over natural resources, local politics, central-local/federal-state relationship, and international relations in Southeast Asia from a perspective of area studies. My focus is on the island of Borneo that is divided among three countries: Malaysia and Brunei in the north, and Indonesia to the south.

I will also conduct research on people and state power in contemporary Southeast Asia with a focus on recent social movements in Indonesia and Malaysia.
