Experimental study of astrophysics with high-energy gamma-rays

 We study high energy astrophysics using gamma ray, the light with the shortest wavelength. Gamma ray is closely associated with high energy phenomena in active celestial bodies such as compact celestial bodies and surrounding enormous black hole, because gamma ray is generated from grains accelerated in nonthermal manner. Based on the gamma ray data observed by a Fermi gamma ray space telescope, CALET cosmic ray observation device installed at the international space station and other equipment, we are trying to address the issue of origin of high energy cosmic ray as well as clarifying high energy celestial bodies phenomena associated with the accelerated grains, different from electric wave or thermal radiation such as infrared and visible light. We also observe time-varying celestial bodies with a 60cm catoptrics telescope installed at BKC campus.
