Research summary
Energy conversion devices for carbon cycle Our laboratory studies SOEC (CO2 is converted to CO or carbon materials with energy) and SOFC(carbon resources are converted to energy) for carbon cycle. Our interests are electrode structure and reaction in SOC(solid oxide cells). We aim to clarify the electrode structure and reaction in microscale to create novel function. Our goal is to control the energy conversion. In addition, an energy system is also studied from the overall view.

Message
1.	Energy conversion and interdisciplinary research Battery plays an important role in automobile which is a leading product of mechanical engineering. Chemical field is necessary to understand “battery”. Cooperation in various study field may produce novel approach and handle difficult issues. Thermal engineering, chemical engineering and catalyst engineering are mainly used in our laboratory. Overall, our study is based on experiment. In addition, we try material simulation to analyze electrode structure in atomic scales and develop mathematical model connecting electrode function and material data. Our interests are manufacturing with data analyses.
