Research summary
Regional and Seasonal Features of Work-Life Balance Based on Time-Use Information: An Empirical Study This research aims to verify the influence of geographical differences and seasonal variations on the work-life balance of households with children by (1) analyzing the propensity of the long-term change in time use using past sequential official statistics surveyed in October every five years, (2) conducting an Internet survey in several typical geographical areas during summer and winter to collect auxiliary regional and seasonal information, and (3) using integral utilization to analyze the web-surveyed data and the time-use information from the official statistics. Moreover, this research proposes a solution to the problem of declining birthrate and aging society in Japan using municipality level analyses.
