Research summary
Research on Optical Fiber Communication Systems Due to the penetration of IoT and big data technology, data traffic in the Internet is expected to keep on increasing. Thus there is strong demand for high performance and low cost optical fiber communication systems. Our laboratory is studying system technology on various optical fiber communications such as optical access networks, data center networks, and optical transport networks. Our research target covers optical communication systems based on digital signal processing, suppression of signal distortion due to fiber nonlinearity, and optical performance monitoring techniques.

1.	Research on Optical Fiber Communication Systems Internet traffic is increasing with a high growth rate of 40% per year. Optical fiber communication systems, used in wide variety of networks such as optical access networks, data center networks, and optical transport networks, are supporting our ICT society. Our laboratory is engaged in education and research on optical fiber communication technologies such as modulation/detection, transmission, and signal processing.
