Research summary
(1) Developmental genetic analysis for gonadogenesis and germline development in C. elegans (2) Development of the platform for the genome-wide epigenome investigation (3)Analyze the roles of the histone deacetylaces (HDAC) during the gonad morphogenesis and oogenesis. (4) We have already isolated new genes required for late embryogenesis by performing large scale RNAi knockdown screening. To further analyze functional roles of these genes, we will analyze expression patterns and functional role of these genes during late embryogenesis. (5) Analyze the functional relationships between ADAMTS proteinases and extracellular matrix molecules during C. elegans gonad development (6) We have already isolated new gonadogenesis defective mutants tk73-tk80. By cloning of these causal gene, I would like to analyze new mechanisms of gonadogenesis in C. elegans.

Message
1.	Analysis of the evolutionally conserved mechanisms of the morphogenesis using model organisms. In my scientific career, I have studied the mechanisms of the morphogenesis using three-types of the model organisms, Japanese Quail, mouse and nematode C. elegans. During past seventeen years, I have been studying evolutionally conserved mechanisms of cell migration, cell shape-change and cell proliferation using C. elegans development by using genetic and molecular biological approaches. In addition to these skill and experience, I would like to expand my research to bio-information-oriented field, and find out new molecular network during the germline development and morphogenesis in Ritsumeikan University.
