Research summary
Study of next generation new product planning and development for systematic innovation The main research theme is “Next-generation new product planning and development approaches and methodologies aiming at “Systematic innovation (meaning of organized and systematic innovation activities)”. Specifically, there is “Effective product planning and development management " with consideration of matching between social macro environment and empirical laws of technological evolution. Another research theme derived from this theme is “A sustainable monodukuri(manufacturing) approach between emerging countries (mainly Asian countries such as India and China) and Japan”. On the other hand, with a view to the arrival of the full-fledged AI era, "Design-thinking risk management methods suitable for the AI era" to prepare for unknown risks is also a recent research theme. Furthermore, “Product development from AI to BI (Benefit of inconvenient)” focusing on the utility created by inconvenience is also a research theme as one of unique innovation activities based on reverse thinking. In any case, they are all of research themes regarding value creation and always aim at the good balance of theory and practice in consideration of cooperation with a company.

Message
1.	Let's challenge the construction of new MOT methods from our practical researches regarding manufacturing and its value creation! The main research themes I advocate are based on practical activities that involve value creation engineering (including VE, TRIZ, QFD, and decision-making methods, etc.) with innovation activities focusing on Japanese manufacturing. Students interested in these research subjects are welcome regardless of humanities or science course. Of course, I am also very welcome to business person and foreign students.
