Research summary
1. Study on Support for Community Life and Ensuring After-school Activities for School-age Children with Disabilities 2. Study on Problems Relating to People with Disabilities in Vietnam, Asia 3. Comparative Study on Educational and Social Development for Children with Special Needs Theme 1. (Study on Support for Community Life and Ensuring After-school Activities for School-age Children with Disabilities) examines actual life after school, of long vacation and at home and in the local community ‎of school-age children with disabilities, and studies measures towards supporting their community life, community care services and community building that enable them to make their out-of-school life more rich and fulfilling. Theme 2 (Study on Problems Relating to People with Disabilities in Vietnam, Asia) examines actual situations of unresolved issues of securing schooling, future life, jobs and other aspects of children with disabilities, and studies directions and problems towards addressing these issues. Theme 3 (Comparative Study, Educational and Social Development for Children with Special Needs on Inclusive Society and Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities), a five-year study from fiscal years 2011-2015 as a study theme (theme no. 23252010) of the Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (A) of JSPS, conducts comparative study on educational and social development issues along life stages of children with special needs, those with mental retardation in particular, in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
