Research summary
Development of Methods to Promote Well-being for People with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Dementia and Their Families in a Super-aging Society: Focusing on the Creation of a Symbiotic Society through Industry-Government-Academia-Private Sector Collaboration My project is to promote social implementation of problem-solving methods through the following process for issues related to medical health and welfare in Japan, using action research: (1) explore the background of the issues, (2) investigate the needs for solutions, (3) approach the issue through a process of trial intervention, (4) present the effects of the intervention that will lead to policy recommendations. My action research targets the following two areas: 1: "Mutual Aid Regeneration" in local communities, and 2: Prevention and progression of "dementia", family care, and social awareness of dementia. For these targets, I am working on two projects: 1) the development of programs for mutual aid and self-help revitalization and strengthening, and 2) a non-pharmacological intervention program for people with MCI and dementia and their families, and the development of a scale to measure the effectiveness of these interventions. Research is being conducted through industry-government-academia collaboration, including people with dementia and their families, residents, public institutions, National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Kyoto University, and companies (e.g., Yoshimoto Kogyo, Nikkei Research).

Message
1.	For the people who have encountered the work and task of " Research" in their life 1: Research and 3 Time In the course of our lives, we have questions (why?) and worries (Why did this happen?). or negative feelings (unwillingness!) ). As a result, when we want to delve deeper into a certain event, we start "research".There are three times for research. (1) Time to calmly reexamine oneself, one's surroundings, and society. (2) Time to find solutions to questions and issues that have become apparent as a result of this reexamination, and to establish evidence (3) Time to communicate to society the solutions to issues that have been clarified. These three times constantly go back and forth, so you may often spend a lot of time in confusion.However, at all times, I think it is important to respect the opinions and experiences of others, regardless of gender, age, or position, while valuing one's "five senses. I also think it is important not to feel ashamed of what you don't know or what you don't know. 2: Paradigm Shift in Research Are you caught in the spell of common sense? It is a bit troubling if all you have is a sudden outlandish story, but in the process of giving form to "outlandish" ideas, discoveries that overturn common sense will be made. In other words, a paradigm shift may occur in that research area. In doing so, there may be many hardships.However, if you feel "Exciting!!", I think that research will be your life theme. Especially if you are interested in solving the problems of absurdity and difficulties in living in a super-aged society with a declining birthrate, please join us in our research activities.
