Research summary
Identification of rice QTLs conferring resistance to lodging Lodging of cereal crops significantly reduces grain yield and quality, making lodging resistance a prime target for breeding programs. Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is an important staple food in many countries, especially in Asia and Africa. Achieving high productivity in rice is a major goal in agriculture, but high-yielding rice cultivars often face mechanical difficulties such as lodging of the aboveground culm. We already identify rice QTLs which participate in lodging resistance in the paddy field. Therefore, we tried to identify the factors involved in lodging resistance in QTLs.
