Research summary
Elucidation of geological phenomena of the Moon and planets by combining observation, experiment, and numerical simulation Humanity is currently striving to expand its habitat into unexplored worlds such as the Moon and Mars. Moreover, for humanity, which has only existed for an extremely short period compared to Earth's history, the future of our planet remains an unpredictable and unknown realm. To address potential threats from unknown natural phenomena, it is necessary to observe natural phenomena around us, experimentally elucidate the underlying processes influencing them, and validate working hypotheses through numerical simulations. Through these three methods, I am working towards unraveling the mechanisms of the geological processes on the Moon and planets.

Message
1.	Promoting research that will open the era of space resource development The plan to mine lunar ice resources and electrolyze them there into rocket fuel is progressing on an international scale. Humanity has now entered an era where economic activities are poised to expand into deep space. My field of expertise, geology, is also entering a period of comprehensive exploration of the Moon and Mars. When people go to the Moon or Mars for exploration and development, they must also build a base camp for exploration and development at the same time. This requires not only science, but also various engineering and management skills. In July 2023, we launched Earth and Space Exploration Center (ESEC) to collaborate with its members in developing the technology for exploration and construction of bases in uncharted worlds. Our goal is to pioneer the fields of "space resource studies" and "earth and planetary field exploration studies."
