概要 In Southeast Asia, Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) is needed because droughts damage agriculture and lives of residents. This research aims to apply Hydrological Simulation Program-FORTRAN (HSPF) to drought risk assessment in the Yom River Basin, Thailand. In this research, the HSPF model was first constructed after collecting the weather and topography data of the target basin. Then, drought risk of each sub-basin was assessed by the average drought duration which is estimated by the simulated river discharge.
As a result of the drought risk assessment, it was revealed that the areas with high drought risk were concentrated on the eastern downstream of the basin based on several drought thresholds, such as low-flow and drought-flow discharges derived from the flow duration curve. In these areas, there are concerns over med- to long-term drought which lasts for over a month.
